Gambling casinos authorized by Law No. 19,995 generate tax revenue of $ 10,768 million in June 2019

During June 2019, the 18 gambling casinos authorized by Law No. 19,995 - not counting the seven municipal concession casinos - contributed a total of $ 10,768 million in taxes, of which $ 4,704 million correspond to the specific game tax destined to the Regional Governments and Municipalities where they operate [1] for the financing of development works, in addition to the sum of $ 4,614 million associated with the payment of VAT and $ 1,450 million corresponding to the tax for entry to the gambling halls, which They go to the general funds of the nation.

The 13 regional governments and the 18 municipalities receive the funds from the game-specific tax, the subsequent month of their payment by the operating companies. Therefore, these resources will be received by local governments in September 2019.

In the Arica and Parinacota Region, Casino Luckia Arica registered tax revenues totaling $ 249 million, of which $ 48 million goes to the Regional Government and $ 48 million to the Municipality of Arica for specific gaming tax, to which adds a tax collection of $ 91 million for VAT and $ 62 million for entry.

In the Atacama Region, Antay Casino & Hotel registered tax revenues for a total of $ 354 million, of which $ 71 million goes to the Regional Government and $ 71 million to the Municipality of Copiapó for specific gaming tax, to which adds a tax collection of $ 146 million for VAT and $ 66 million for entry.

In the Coquimbo Region, Ovalle Casino Resort SA registered tax revenues for a total of $ 183 million, of which $ 35 million goes to the Regional Government and $ 35 million to the Municipality of Ovalle for specific gaming tax, to which adds a tax collection of $ 66 million for VAT and $ 47 million for entry.

In the Region of Valparaíso, the Casino of the Pacific Games and the Casino of the Rinconada Game recorded tax revenues totaling $ 1,756 million, of which $ 413 million goes to the Regional Government, while $ 54 million and $ 359 million they are destined to the municipalities of San Antonio and Rinconada, respectively, by way of a game-specific tax. In tax collection, Casino de Juegos del Pacífico generated contributions of $ 102 million for VAT and $ 48 million for entry. In turn, Rinconada Gambling Casino generated contributions of $ 682 million for VAT and $ 99 million for entry.

In the O'Higgins Region, Sun Monticello and Casino de Colchagua recorded tax revenues totaling $ 2,834 million, of which $ 651 million goes to the Regional Government, while $ 608 million and $ 43 million go to the municipalities of Mostazal and Santa Cruz, respectively, by concept of specific tax to the game. In tax collection, Sun Monticello generated contributions of $ 1,187 million for VAT and $ 240 million for entry. In turn, Casino de Colchagua generated contributions of $ 85 million for VAT and $ 21 million for entry.

In the Maule Region, Gran Casino de Talca registered tax revenues for a total of $ 349 million, of which $ 72 million goes to the Regional Government and $ 72 million to the Municipality of Talca for specific gaming tax, to which adds a tax collection of $ 146 million for VAT and $ 58 million for entry.

In the Bio Bio Region, Marina del Sol Talcahuano and Casino Gran Los Angeles recorded tax revenues totaling $ 1,349 million, of which $ 281 million goes to the Regional Government, while $ 251 million and $ 31 million are allocated to the municipalities of Talcahuano and Los Angeles, respectively, by way of a specific game tax. In tax collection, Marina del Sol Talcahuano generated contributions of $ 509 million for VAT and $ 184 million for entry. In turn, Casino Gran Los Angeles generated contributions of $ 60 million for VAT and $ 33 million for entry.

In the Araucanía Region, Dreams Temuco registered tax revenues for a total of $ 738 million, of which $ 156 million goes to the Regional Government and $ 156 million to the Municipality of Temuco for specific game tax, to the which adds a tax collection of $ 309 million for VAT and $ 116 million for entry.

In the Los Ríos Region, Dreams Valdivia registered tax revenues for a total of $ 410 million, of which $ 85 million goes to the Regional Government and $ 85 million to the Municipality of Valdivia for a game-specific tax, to which adds a tax collection of $ 168 million for VAT and $ 71 million for entry.

In the Los Lagos Region, Marina del Sol Osorno and Enjoy Chiloé recorded tax revenues totaling $ 482 million, of which $ 104 million goes to the Regional Government, while $ 75 million and $ 29 million goes to the municipalities of Osorno and Castro, respectively, by concept of specific tax to the game. In tax collection, Marina del Sol Osorno generated contributions of $ 151 million for VAT and $ 47 million for entry. In turn, Enjoy Chiloé generated contributions of $ 56 million for VAT and $ 21 million for entry.

In the Aysén Region, Dreams Coyhaique registered tax revenues for a total of $ 188 million, of which $ 41 million goes to the Regional Government and $ 41 million to the Municipality of Coyhaique for a game-specific tax, to which It adds a tax collection of $ 78 million for VAT and $ 27 million for entry.

In the Magallanes Region, Dreams Punta Arenas registered tax revenues for a total of $ 640 million, of which $ 130 million goes to the Regional Government and $ 130 million to the Municipality of Punta Arenas for specific game tax, to the which adds a tax collection of $ 262 million for VAT and $ 118 million for entry.

Gross revenue from the gaming casino industry

The gaming casino industry, made up of the 18 [2] gaming casinos authorized by Law No. 19,995 and the 7 municipal concession casinos, recorded during June 2019, gross gaming income (win) for $ 38,948 million, which implies a real monthly variation of -4.0% [3] compared to the same month of the previous year, while the accumulated real growth is 0.5% [4] in the last 12 months.

Casinos authorized by Law N ° 19,995

Of the gross revenues recorded by the industry in general, the casinos authorized by Law No. 19,995 reached gross revenues from the game (win) for $ 28,897 million, which represents 74.2% of the total. This implies a real variation [5] of -1.0% [6] , compared to June 2018. As a result, the regulated industry shows a cumulative real growth [7] of 2.7%, in the last twelve months .

In the same terms, the 425,093 registered visits are equivalent to a variation of -6.1% compared to June 2018 and to an accumulated growth of -0.2% in the last 12 months.

Regarding visitor spending, during the month of June there was an average expenditure of $ 67,979 per visit, which implies a real variation of 5.3% compared to June 2018, reaching a real cumulative growth in spending of 2, 9% in the last 12 months.

The amount played [8] in the month of June, in the 10,281 machines of chance [9] that were in operation in the 18 regulated casinos amounted to $ 374,719 million. The prizes paid to the players reached $ 351,833 million, equivalent to 93.9% of the total wagered and as a result, the gross income or win corresponding to the game in random machines was $ 22,885 million, which is equivalent to 79.2% of the total gross income

Municipal Casinos

On the other hand, the municipal casinos obtained a total of $ 10.051 million of gross income of the game or win, which represents a total of 25.8% of the total of the industry. This figure implies a real monthly variation of -2.7% compared to June 2018 and a cumulative real growth of -2.5% in the last 12 months.

Regarding the visits, the municipal concession casinos (except Puerto Varas that does not have the information) registered a total of 154,618 visits. This information is not possible to compare, index or add to that registered by the industry authorized by Law No. 19.995, because they are not standardized measures (see notes of the Statistical Bulletin). For this reason, it is not possible to calculate the average expenditure per person for these enclosures.

About data series

It should be remembered that, since May 2016, in the press releases referring to the operational results, the percentages of variation of the gross income of the game and average expenditure, compared to previous periods, are communicated in real terms, that is, corrected for the value of the UF of the last day of the month.

 

[1] The specific tax is applied to the gross income obtained in the exploitation of authorized games, after deduction of the amount for value added tax (VAT) and the amount for mandatory monthly provisional payments (PPM).

[2] To the 25 gambling casinos that are currently in operation in the country, the integral project authorized in October 2016 in the commune of Chillán, which is under construction, is added.
