A judge has said no to proposals for two new casino sites on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

According a report, one site was in Biloxi and the other was in Bay St. Louis.

The Mississippi Gaming Commission ruled in March 2017 that neither property met state regulations for a casino site.

Developers for the sites have appealed.

On Tuesday, a Special Circuit Court Judge upheld the commission's decision.

If the judge overturned the Gaming Commission's ruling, it could have opened up property for casinos all along the beach.

One issue in dispute for the Biloxi site was the meaning of the high-water line in the state's regulations, whether it is the seawall or the current shoreline.

Developers could ask the Mississippi Supreme Court to overturn the judge's decision.
