ESPN studio to be built at Linq Hotel in Las Vegas; programming to include branding and odds from Caesars

Walt Disney (DIS) ESPN plans to partner with Caesars Entertainment (CZR) to develop shows for sports betting. Disney stock and Caesars stock both rose.

As part of the pact, Disney-owned ESPN will put a studio at Caesars' Linq Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, serving as a hub for sports betting content. It will launch in 2020.

Caesars will be the official odds data supplier for ESPN across television and digital platforms.

The new show will add to ESPN's growing lineup of sports betting content, which already includes the show "Daily Wager," as well as a few podcasts and segments on other shows like "Sports Center" and "Outside the Lines."

Traditional networks like ESPN are embracing legal sports betting coverage as a potential growth driver, amid industry headwinds. Fox Corp. acquired a 5% stake in Stars Group (TSGI) last week. Caesars also struck a deal with AT&T 's (T) Turner Sports recently to develop new sports gambling content.
