 - The Borgata Casino in Atlantic City is expanding its sports-betting action to digital. It has launched an online sportsbook offering website and mobile betting if you are located within New Jersey.

Borgata, which is owned by MGM Resorts International, was the first casino in Atlantic City to take legal sports bets, in June 2018, just days after the state legalized wagering on sports through a casino.

The online platform, hosted at BorgataSports.com and on iOS and Android apps, offers the same types of bets as the brick-and-mortar sportsbook at the casino, including straight bets, parlay bets, futures bets and more, according to a news release.

New Jersey allows gambling online as long as the player is physically located in the state. The gaming software is designed to confirm that through geolocation, although glitches or vulnerabilities in the code have happened.

That has proven costly to tech companies and gamblers, too.

Earlier this month, New Jersey regulators fined Gaming Innovation Group $25,000 for a flaw in its geolocation technology that allowed someone in Nevada to place an online bet with Atlantic City's Hard Rock Casino.

In March, regulators ordered a resident of California to forfeit more than $90,000 from online gaming accounts he used from outside New Jersey.
